T-Armond™ Bridge Pickup – Original Gretsch Mount
Our version of the original DeArmond 2000 pickups are more controlled in the high frequencies, taking away earth shattering ice-pickiness while keeping that “off-the-rails” attitude that these pickups are known for. Of course, at lower gain levels they sing with unmatched fidelity and clarity. Tom designed our T-Armond set after Brian Setzer’s ’56 Silver Jet that was used on his Dirty Boogie album. That guitar spent many hours on Tom’s workbench over the years. Now you can get this amazing tone with any Gretsch Guitar routed for a standard original Filter’Tron.
Tone/Characteristics
The T-Armonds are in a league of their own with crystal clear highs, bellowing lows, and a tastefully controlled midrange. They perform really well with and without a lot of gain. Some say they sound like tele pickups on steroids.
Output/Power
DC Resistance is not entirely an indicator of true pickup output, although it can be helpful.
Bridge: DCR – 11.8k / Inductance – 4.56H
Neck: DCR – 7.8k / Inductance – 3.38H
Installation:
The Original Pro Gretsch Mount is a direct drop in replacement for most Pro Series Gretsch guitars (6xxx Series) with Filter’Tron style pickups. This pickup ships with 4 small mounting screws and compression foam for adjustment.
Wiring Notes
This pickup is shipped with standard 2-conductor wire. We recommend 500k pots with our T-Armond pickups.
Helpful Notes
Filter’Tron Replacement: The Original Pro Gretsch Mount is a direct drop in replacement for most Pro Series Gretsch guitars with Filter’Tron style pickups. The change in mount does not change the sound of the pickup.
