The price of the 80’s Hot Stack alone covers the entire cost of this pickguard.
This vintage STK-2 was wound my MJ – Marciella Jaurez. She’s the head of SD Custom Shop. The 80’s version differ slightly from the other STK-2 in that they were staggered individual pole pieces. It should be close to 20k and split evenly between coils. (The equivalent ceramic bar models were closer to 18k and unequal coil split. Used mostly in the neck)
The new units supplied in the Brent Mason Tele are actually a modern STK 13k ceramic bar with the NOS red covers on top.) They don’t sound as full as these hotter original 80s units.
Glaser instruments tech says they only wired the bottom coil on that pickup on Brent Mason set ups. The pickup is still available with open black or white covers for $110. They haven’t seen a red one in ages. They are about 2k to 3k hotter per coil and highly sought after.
The other pickups are 2 – 90’s Tom Anderson pickups. One Humbucker H-1 and one single coil.
( Due to people taking advantage of eBay / Reverb return policies; wanting to “try out and/or pilfer parts” we can no longer take returns on used gear unless it arrives damaged. Sorry for this inconvenience. We test and guarantee all gear to be 100% working unless stated otherwise )
